Fan Game Variations

When Fan Games is the selected solitaire game, the following game rule variations will be available under the Rules menu:
Rule 1 - Demon Fan
Demon Fan is the easiest fan game in this collection due to the generous number of re-deals allowed and a more forgiving build rule. The tableau consists of 16 fans of 3 cards and the final 2 fans contain 2 cards. Cards are built on fans in descending sequences of alternating colours (e.g. 7 on 8) and six re-deals/shuffles are allowed. When a fan becomes empty, it cannot be filled again, not even by a King.
Rule 2 - Three Shuffles and a Draw
Three Shuffles and a Draw is identical to La Belle Lucie except after the final re-deal/shuffle, you're allowed to move any card that's buried near the bottom of a fan, to the top of that fan in order to free it. This is called "The Draw" and can only be done once each game, hence the name Three Shuffles (including the first one) and a single Draw. The tableau is slightly different to Demon Fan in that there are 17 fans of 3 cards and the final fan contains just one card. Cards are built on fans in descending suit sequence (e.g. 7 on 8). When a fan becomes empty, it cannot be filled by any card. To draw a card, click on the fan and it will open up so you can see all the cards. Then move your mouse pointer over the buried cards and they will highlight if you have a draw remaining. To draw, click on a highlighted card or click anywhere else on the screen to close the fan again.
Rule 3 - Super Flower Garden
Super Flower Garden is also similar to La Belle Lucie but is made slightly easier as you're allowed to build cards in descending sequence regardless of suit (e.g. 7 on 8 or 7 on 8). Two re-deals/shuffles are allowed and empty fan spaces cannot be filled.
Rule 4 - Shamrocks
Shamrocks is quite a tricky but interesting variation on most fan games and requires a bit of luck from the deal. The standard 17 fans of 3 cards are dealt along with a final fan of one card. When a King is dealt, it's moved to the bottom of its fan so it doesn't block the game. Cards are built on fans in descending sequence (e.g. 7 on 8) or ascending sequence (e.g. 7 on 6) regardless of suit. However, before you get excited at the ease of the game, a fan can accommodate a maximum of three cards and empty fans cannot be filled. To top it all, there are no re-deals. Grab your lucky shamrock!
Rule 5 - La Belle Lucie
La Belle Lucie is quite a difficult fan game which is probably why so many easier variations have been created. Cards are built on fans in descending suit sequence (e.g. 7 on 8). Two re-deals/shuffles are allowed and empty fan spaces cannot be filled.
Rule 6 - Fan
These are the rules for the original Fan game that all the other fan games evolved from due to its difficulty. The deal is the same as Demon Fan with 16 fans of 3 cards and 2 fans of 2 cards. Cards are built on fans in descending suit sequence (e.g. 7 on 8) but no re-deals allowed! You're given a slight break however as empty fan spaces may be filled by Kings.
